As we all know, the contents of the bottle is one of the most important aspects of the beer. However, the beer bottle and its package help improve the overall experience and create an emotional connection between the consumer and the product. For breweries, the beer label is one great opportunity of attracting the attention of the consumers.

In this article, we’ll talk about the beer labeling process and how it affects a consumer’s buying decision. Read on and we’ll tell you more about it.

Beer labeling process

There is no denying that beer labels have an influence in our buying decision. With a wide variety of choices, the uninitiated may have a difficult time in choosing a product. For unpopular beer brands, the battle for consumer attention becomes even tougher. That being said, the importance of beer labeling comes into the picture. The beer’s distinctive look is also meant to help the beer stand out in upscale restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

Nowadays, beer brewers are trying to take the superficial approach to the next level. Some beer brewers are even coming up with crude and offensive names to help them stand out.  However, coming up with a clever name or eye-grabbing label is not enough. In order to attract the attention of the beer-drinking community, the beverage should also come in a unique and iconic bottle.

Aside from a few studies which focuses on the how visual tricks could influence a consumer’s purchasing behavior, recent studies revealed that beer brewers could actually influence consumer spending based on the label’s content. Some beer geeks check the label and carefully read through the product description. For others, the selection process is based on the beverage with the prettiest label.

The beer labeling process is not as simple as it looks. After injecting beer into the clean bottles, breweries cannot just slap a label on the bottle and send it to the distributor. Advertising and labeling of malt beverages like beer is regulated by the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
